CRS-31 rocket launch: Sonic booms possible in Central Florida

Monday night, SpaceX will launch the 31st Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-31) mission to the International Space Station. Launch is set for 9:29 p.m. Officials have warned that sonic booms might be heard as the Falcon 9 rocket is expected to land at Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

Downtown Orlando shooting suspect to be charged as an adult

The 17-year-old suspect in the downtown Orlando shooting over Halloween will be charged as an adult, State Attorney Andrew Bain announced Monday. He was charged with second-degree murder, though additional charges are pending. Bain said in Florida a grand jury has to indict on first-degree murder and that his office plans to present the case to a grand jury soon.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 18 was declared Sunday in the Caribbean (formerly Invest 97L), and is expected to become Tropical Storm Rafael on Monday. It's then expected to strengthen into a Cat. 1 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, west of Florida's coast, before weakening back to a tropical storm.
