Man arrested after fatally striking bicyclist in Seminole County hit-and-run: FHP

One man was arrested after he struck a bicyclist with his vehicle on Friday, which later led to the victim's death, according to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said the crash happened around 3:16 p.m. in the area of Red Bug Lake Road and Creeks Bend Drive. Troopers said a bicyclist was attempting to enter a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a Ford F-150.

The 62-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries where he later died, according to troopers.

After the crash, officials said the driver of the F-150, 28-year-old Kyle Izbicky, fled the scene before being located by deputies with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in a nearby parking lot.

Izbicky will face upgraded charges after the victim's passing, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.

Seminole County
