A new poll released this week by the UNF Public Opinion Research Lab shows that two-thirds of Florida voters support Amendment 3, the proposal to legalize recreational marijuana. The same poll revealed that 60% of voters are in favor of Amendment 4, which deals with abortion access. Gov. Ron DeSantis was in Central Florida on Tuesday to campaign against the abortion amendment
A state report dated Dec. 31 shows that 60,755 abortions had been reported in Florida in 2024. Here are the counties with the most abortions.
The numbers reflect county residents who had abortions, not necessarily the counties where abortions took place.

In Nov. 2024, Amendment 4 failed at the polls in Florida after not meeting the 60% threshold to pass, according to the Associated Press.
Florida voters decided to keep the current abortion law which restricts abortion to the first six weeks of pregnancy.

Amendment 4 would have legalized abortion in Florida before the period of viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.
The amendment would not have changed the Legislature's constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion.
