Teen dies in car crash less than two hours into New Year, troopers say
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - Troopers say a 17-year-old has died in a car crash that took place less than two hours into the New Year.
Officers say the crash took place around 1:22 a.m. in Lake County.
An official report from the Florida Highway Patrol states the teen was traveling eastbound on County Road 474 west of Hilochee Ridge Road in a 2003 Chevy pickup truck when the incident occurred.

Troopers say the teen ran off the roadway for an unknown reason and collided with a tree, where they then died on the scene.
The crash currently remains under investigation, officials state.
