Officials: Florida man arrested after attacking resident, assaulting 2 police officers

Police said a Florida man has been arrested on multiple charges after attacking a resident and assaulting two police officers.

An official police report showed 43-year-old Bartolome Figueroa Acevedo was arrested Dec. 30 in Fort Meade.

Officials stated he is being charged with battery, resisting with violence and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.

What we know

Witnesses told police Acevedo was intoxicated and rude with others at a residence in Fort Meade before getting into an altercation with a woman.

Police said Acevedo told the woman to move her car because he didn't like her. He then grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the face, the police report stated.

When deputies arrived on the scene of the incident, they said Acevedo told them to get off his property, which is when the incident escalated.

Acevedo kicked one deputy in the leg and another deputy on her chest, police said.

Officials reported Acevedo currently is booked in the Polk County Jail.
