Investigators determined that Sheppard and Dean, who had previously been in a romantic relationship, had been staying together at the Extended Stay America motel on U.S. 192 in West Melbourne.
Surveillance footage showed the pair leaving the motel early on Nov. 4 and being dropped off by a ride-share service near Eber Road and Hollywood Boulevard.
