Crews are working to get the hole on State Road 434 in Oviedo fixed.  The hole originally opened up last weekend. A drainage pipe burst, hollowing out the road underneath the street. When the hole first opened, drivers were told they could be detoured for weeks as crews worked on the fix.

Officials said they hope to have the road open in three days. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says that this fix is coming with a price tag of $237,000.

Travelers who normally drive this section of SR 434 in Oviedo need to continue to use different routes until the fix is finished. The suggested detour calls for traffic to use Tuskawilla Road and Red Bug Lake/Mitchell Hammock Roads as alternates.
