Police make arrest in car dealership burglary

A man, whom police say is connected with a theft at a DeLand dealership, is behind bars.

Volusia County deputies say Aaron Payne, 36, was involved in a burglary at Bud Lawrence Used Cars and Trucks in DeLand. Earlier this week, deputies say the dealership's entire inventory of keys were stolen, but investigators were able to get them back.

"Those keys were no longer any good, because they didn't match anything. They'd already been re-keyed," says manager Stuart Lawrence.

Lawrence paid $2,500 to get new keys. Investigators say the thieves also took three laptops and three cars right off the lot.  Lawrence, whose had the dealership for four decades, says he'll now have make more of an investment in security.

"It's going to cost me between $2,500 and $3,000 for a decent security system."

Lawerence says it's the cost of doing business.
