Julio Foolio murder: 5th suspect in Florida rapper’s death arrested in Jacksonville

The fifth suspect involved in the Tampa murder of Jacksonville rapper, Charles Jones, who also goes by "Julio Foolio," is in custody after more than six months on the run.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Davion Murphy, 27, was taken into custody with the help of its gang unit and the U.S. Marshals Service at a Jacksonville apartment complex. He was booked into the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

Murphy has been wanted in the murder of the 26-year-old rapper since June 23, when five suspects traveled to Tampa to carry out a deadly shooting that was described as an ongoing gang war.

Rashad Murphy, 30, Isaiah Chance, 21, Alicia Andrews, 21, and Sean Gathright, 18, have all been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Chance and Andrews have been described as the "lookouts," who followed Jones as he moved around Tampa to two clubs while celebrating his birthday on June 22. In the early morning hours of June 23, the rapper traveled to the Home2Suites near USF, where surveillance video recorded three shooters firing at his vehicle in the parking lot, killing him

The suspected shooters were later identified as Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy. Rashad Murphy and Chance are documented members of two different gangs known as "ATK" and "1200." These gangs are both rivals to Jones' gang, "6 Block."

Jones was known for feuding with other artists and for his involvement in a deadly gang beef. His songs even featured violent lyrics, and some were about actual murders.

Authorities said the feud between 6 Block and ATK and 1200 has spanned more than a decade with dozens of murders by and against both sides. They believe it's what led to Jones' murder.

"Detectives believe that the ATK and the 1200 worked together to target Jones as part of an ongoing feud in Jacksonville," Bercaw said at the time.

Prior to the shooting, Jones posted on Instagram that he was in Tampa celebrating his birthday.
