Florida woman trying to buy fentanyl accidentally texts narcotics investigator: deputies

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - A Florida woman was arrested after accidentally texting a narcotics investigator while trying to buy drugs, authorities said.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) said 41-year-old Octavia Wells believed she was contacting a drug dealer to purchase fentanyl before leaving town, but instead sent the message to a BCSO narcotics investigator.

The investigator responded undercover and arranged a meeting with Wells at a local gas station. When she arrived, she was greeted not by a drug dealer, but by several BCSO Special Investigations Division officers.

Wells was taken to jail on charges of unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with knowledge of a suspended or revoked license.
