Orlando Police report 2024 crime decline, according to latest statistics
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Police Department reported a significant decrease in crime in 2024, with an 18% overall reduction and a 10% drop in violent crime, according to the latest statistics released by the department.
The report highlights the department's extensive efforts to ensure public safety and enhance law enforcement operations across the city.
Officers responded to 757,799 calls for service in 2024 and conducted 68,250 traffic stops.

Other key statistics include the seizure of 1,340 illegal firearms, 196 of which were confiscated in downtown Orlando, and 15,860 arrests made throughout the year.
The department also focused on increasing its personnel and training efforts, adding 159 new officers and investing more than 20,000 hours in training.
The Orlando Police Department achieved a 96% clearance rate for homicides, further emphasizing its commitment to addressing violent crime and supporting victims' families.
"These efforts reflect our dedication to maintaining Orlando as a safe and livable community," the department stated.
