1 dead, 1 injured in Brevard County crash, FHP reports
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A man has died following a single-car crash in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol says.
The crash took place around 1:17 p.m. Tuesday on US Highway 1 and Montgomery Road in Mims, troopers reported.
According to a FHP report, the driver of a Nissan 350Z was traveling northbound on US Highway 1, approaching Montgomery Road in the outside lane.

Officials say the man driving the vehicle was driving above the posted speed limit when he ran off the roadway and struck a ditch.
The driver and the female passenger, both 28 years old, were thrown from the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead on-scene.
The passenger was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center with severe, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
The crash currently remains under investigation.
