Florida deputy shot, killed in Charlotte County: officials

A Charlotte County Sheriff's deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop over the weekend, authorities said. Corporal Elio Diaz was conducting a stop at a gas station in Port Charlotte on Sunday afternoon when the driver pulled out a rifle and fired, Sheriff Bill Prummell said during a news conference.
