SpaceX scrubs Starlink rocket launch: 'hold, hold, hold'

SpaceX scrubbed its planned rocket launch Sunday with nearly 2 ½ minutes to go until lift-off. At 2:39 in the countdown, mission control could be heard over the broadcast: "Hold, hold, hold. Stand down for helium stage one."

Minutes later, SpaceX confirmed it was canceling Sunday's launch.

SpaceX was planning to launch 23 Starlink satellites into space from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The next backup opportunity is after 4:31 p.m. on Monday, according to SpaceX's website.

The Space Coast has set a record for the most launches in the year - surpassing last year's number of rocket launches.
