Small plane flips upon landing at Brevard airport

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A small plane has crashed in Brevard County.  Authorities said what began as a routine approach at Merritt Island Regional Airport ended with a plane landing upside down.  Two of the plane's occupants, a husband and wife, were transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital with minor injuries. 

The airport is presently closed to traffic and the Federal Aviation Administration has been brought in to investigate, according to a spokesman with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.  The pilot and passenger have not been identified.
