A Gastonia, North Carolina couple wed 17 years after they walked down the aisle.

In 1998, when Adrian and Brooke were both 5, they served as ring bearer and flower girl in their parents' friends' wedding at South Gastonia Church of God. On September 19, 2015, the two walked down the same aisle at the same church, but this time as bride and groom.

Brooke Franklin said she went to church and daycare with Adrian, and she's been interested in him ever since they were children. She said in school, she would try to play with Adrian, but he wasn't interested in her at the time.

Adrian said he wasn't enthused about being a ring bearer in his family friends' wedding, and the pictures from the day show it, but his feelings have changed about Brooke since their early days together! The couple began dating in 2011. He asked her to be his girlfriend by writing "Will you be my girlfriend" on her back with his finger. She guessed each word, but wasn't sure if he was serious because he left off the question mark.

Adrian said when he proposed, he had his family hold up signs that popped the big question, and he made sure he asked her with a question mark!

The couple just returned from their honeymoon cruise, and bought a home in Gastonia.
