Pulse nightclub launches official employee recovery fund

Due to overwhelming support from around the world, the owner of Pulse Night Club has created a fundraising site dedicated to assisting the daily needs of club employees who have been affected by the tragic shooting that occurred in the popular gay club Sunday morning.

The fund can be accessed at www.pulseorlandoclub.com and it is operated through a secured PayPal system.

"So many people have called asking to donate and help our employees who are trying to deal with the after-effects of this terrible event which occurred in our club," said owner Barbara Poma. "Many fundraising sites have been created, but we aren't involved with any of those. The Pulse Employee Recovery Fund will serve as the official site for Pulse employees. I want the public to feel secure about where their contributions will go."

Monies raised will go directly to Pulse employees to assist with their daily needs while they are out of work and healing. Poma explained that offers of help from around the world have ranged from money and counseling to artwork, poetry and even music.

"We have only begun the grieving process, and we need to heal. Part of that process includes trying to continue to manage our daily lives and we hope this fund helps us help our staff who are traumatized," Poma said. "Our community and our family was changed forever on June 12, 2016. We grieve with the victims and their families. For information, contact Sara Brady at sbrady@sarabradypr.com.
