New attractions announced for SeaWorld, Busch Gardens

Some exciting new attractions were unveiled on Tuesday at the 2018 International Association of Amusement Parks (IAAPA) Expo, held in Orlando.

A new addition to SeaWorld Orlando will feature the Sesame Street neighborhood, including Abby Cadabby's Garden, Big Bird's Nest, the famous 123 Stoop and all of your favorite characters.   A daily Sesame Street  Super Grover's Box Car Derby is a family friendly coaster full of fun hills and big turns.

"The addition of Sesame Street is just gonna be a wonderful addition to the SeaWorld Park," explained Stewart Clark, president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

For even bigger thrills, you'll have to head on over to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to ride Tigris. At 150 feet, it's touted as Florida's tallest launch coaster with a first-of-its-kind dueling, horizontal rollercoaster.

"This one's actually a triple launch coaster," Stewart said. "It not only takes you up to the hill, and then you go, but you actually launch forwards up the hill and you free fall backwards, launching backwards through the station, back up another hill and free fall forwards, launching again up over the top."

This coaster is designed to mimic the agility of the tiger. While waiting in the ride queue, guests can learn about the plight of tigers in the wild and what the park's conservation fund is doing to help save them.  It's all about the company's Park to Planet mission to connect park goers enjoying the entertainment with real world efforts to protect and conserve.

All of these attractions are set to open in the Spring of 2019.
