The event included special giveaways from Amazing Adventure Hunts for anyone who donated and beat the family.
A Sanford family is raising funds for a Guatemalan orphanage mission through 15 hours of pickleball play.
Hays said the funds will go to help Child Beyond International in Guatemala, a partner of Resurrection Church, which is a member of Central Florida Cross Network.
According to Hays, the Lake Mary-based Central Florida Cross Network is a growing, faith-based network of churches, schools and social ministries with the shared mission of bringing Jesus to everyone by meeting the needs of the community and growing the faith of all who believe.
Hays said he and his wife were moved to help after visiting the orphanage in October and meeting some of the children and staff.

In March 2025, the whole family will be returning to build houses and stoves, as well as to support medical, sports and VBS missions.
Hays says the funds will go towards providing food, shelter, medicine and care for children who have been abandoned.
The family has set a fundraising goal of $4,000.
Whether others are able to give $5 or $500, Hays says every little bit helps.
