Hotel Putnam fire believed to be intentionally set
DELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A fire that destroyed the historic Hotel Putnam in DeLand, Florida is believed to have been set intentionally.
The fire occurred on April 29, has been under investigation by the State of Florida, Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations, in cooperation with the City of DeLand Fire Marshal.
The investigation has been an arson investigation. The State Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations is expected to close this case on or about September 1, with the cause of the fire determined as a “set fire.”
At this time, no charges are expected to be filed.
