High school football coach booted for praying

A Washington State high School football coach gets the boot for praying on the field.

Assistant coach Joe Kennedy of Bremerton High was warned a month ago to stop openly praying on the 50-yard-line after games.

He was ordered to avoid kneeling, bowing his head or doing anything that could be viewed as religious. But the Devout Christian coach did not comply and the school has now placed him on paid leave… stripping Kennedy of any involvement in the football program.

School officials say his religious conduct makes the district liable for violating the Federal and State constitutional rights of students.
