Who is Tureygua Inaru?
The backstory:
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office said it first arrested Inaru on Dec. 6, 2022.
Deputies said Inaru was arrested on two counts of making written threats to kill or cause bodily harm, as well as aggravated stalking.
Arrest warrant obtained
Timeline:
In December 2022, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said it received information that an inmate, who was incarcerated at the Osceola County Department of Corrections, was attempting to solicit two other inmates to murder her family members, as well as an assistant state attorney with the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Detectives said they were able to find evidence to link Inaru, who threatened her family members. Reports show Inaru asked the inmates if they knew anyone who could murder her parents and grandparents, claiming she would then receive an inheritance of about $2 million.
Along with the threats, sheriffs said Inaru used social media platforms and other online sources to stalk the assistant state attorney prosecuting her cases. The arrest warrant shows Inaru said she "wanted him to suffer" and didn’t care if his family died too.
Records show the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office sent an undercover detective posing as an inmate into the jail in January 2023.
The undercover detective stated Inaru expressed belief in several conspiracy theories and shared her dislike of the assistant state attorney. However, reports show she denied attempting to hire a hitman.
When Inaru was interviewed later on, deputies said she then admitted to trying to hire someone to murder her family members.
Officials said they gained an arrest warrant for Inaru for three counts of solicitation to commit murder and cyberstalking in March 2023.
At the time, Inaru already was incarcerated in the Osceola County Department of Corrections on a zero bond.
30-month sentence
What's next:
Authorities said Inaru’s 30-month sentence will be followed by eight years of supervised probation.
