Deputies said a man dropped off his child at school and was walking across the crosswalk when he was nearly hit by a vehicle driven by Silva.
In response, the victim pushed Silva's passenger-side window shut, according to an arrest report, and yelled, "Stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk." This led to an argument between the two.
The man then got into his pickup truck, left, and drove onto school grounds to inform a school resource officer about the incident.
Authorities said Silva followed and confronted him as he began to pull out of the school's parking lot.
Deputies said Silva pulled in front of the man's truck, got out of the vehicle and began yelling. He went on to repeatedly open and close the victim's vehicle door on his leg.
What they're saying:
The victim asked Silva, "Are you sure you want to do this?" Silva replied, "yes" and then grabbed the victim while he was still in the vehicle and hit him in the chest, according to the arrest report.
A school employee told authorities she witnessed Silva punching the man's car window, reaching in and grabbing the victim before punching him in the chest multiple times.
The victim was able to push Silva to the ground and hold him there until help arrived.
What's next:
Silva has a scheduled court appearance on March 4 at 9 a.m.
