Florida Highway Patrol officer saves unresponsive driver
NAPLES, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that late on December 13th, they responded to a traffic crash on Eastbound I-75 (what is known as Alligator Alley) at mile marker 85.
FHP says that upon arrival, the trooper observed a single vehicle that drifted off the interstate, resting against the south shoulder fence line. The trooper observed an unresponsive female driver sitting in the driver's seat with the doors locked.
The trooper reportedly attempted to wake the female up, but was unsuccessful. Concerned for her wellbeing, the trooper broke the rear passenger window to gain access to her. He discovered that the woman did not have a pulse.
The report goes on to say that the trooper then gains better access by breaking the driver's side window to lift the woman out of the vehicle. He attempts to give her CPR since she is not breathing. She was revived a short time later.
FHP says that emergency medical services transported her to the Physicians Regional Hospital.
The woman was later identified as 32-year-old Cory Lynn Webster, according to FHP.
After being treated and released, FHP says that they placed Webster under arrested for Driving Under the Influence (it was her third violation in ten years) and Driving While License Suspended.
