Eye-gouging victim speaks out, wants to know why her roommate did this

Eye-gouging victim, Emily Brinson, has one question for her attacker. "Why?"

That's what the 55-year-old wants to know from Quaneisha Knight, the woman Sanford police arrested in the attack.

"After everything we've done for her, let her stay in my house. I want to know why." Brinson tells Fox 35.

Quaneisha Knight is accused of attacking 55-year-old Brinson, who is now blind in one eye. She has white gauze covering her left eye socket, while it heals.

She says she's still trying to understand why the person she was allowing to live with her, would hurt her. "It really makes me angry... I treated her like my own daughter. I even called her my own daughter. She called me mom. She called my husband poppa."

An arrest report says Quaneisha attacked Emily, over an argument Quaneisha was having with the next door neighbor in their Sanford duplex.

Emily says Quaneisha even threatened her after the attack. The arrest report says Quaneisha told Emily she would "finish her off" if she told the truth about what happened. Quaneisha Knight was arrested and ordered to stay away from Emily Brinson.
