Deputies investigate after bodies found in home
DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of two bodies found inside a Deltona home on Monday.
Deputies were dispatched to 305 Providence Blvd. following a frantic 911 call just before 2 p.m., reporting a shooting. When deputies entered the home, they found the bodies of an adult man and an adult woman in a bedroom. Two small children who were in the residence were unharmed.
"The investigators are going to talk to friends, family members, neighbors and try to get to the bottom of this. The biggest question in these types of incidences is, why? We are not always able to answer that question, but we will do our best to get to the bottom of it," Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesman Gary Davidson. "Other than the children the other two people that can tell us what happened are deceased, unfortunately. The investigators are going to dig in and talk to anybody who can possibly shed light on what happened here and why."
The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old Jonathan Jeanniton and 23-year-old Akeyla McCoy. Authorities believe the deaths may be the result of a murder-suicide.
