1 person pulled from car in retention pond near Orlando International Airport, officials say

One person was pulled from a car that ended up in a retention pond near the Orlando International Airport Saturday afternoon, airport officials said. 

The vehicle was found in a pond near the southbound lanes of Jeff Fuqua Blvd near MCO's terminal C. 

One person was rescued and taken to a local hospital  

Airport officials said traffic had to be diverted for one hour and 20 minutes as crews worked to pull the driver from the submerged car. 

The cause of the crash has not been released. 

Airport officials said traffic to the terminals was not impacted.
