Subtropical Storm Joyce is expected to slowly weaken this weekend. 

Located about 1010 miles west-southwest from the Azores, Subtropical Storm Joyce is moving toward the southwest near 6 miles per hour, says the National Hurricane Center (NHC). A turn toward the south-southwest and then toward the south is expected later today through early Friday. A gradual turn toward the east-northeast and northeast, with an increase in forward speed, is expected Saturday and Sunday.

In their 5 p.m. advisory, the NHC says that Joyce's maximum sustained winds area near 40 miles per hour with higher gusts. Slow weakening of the system is expected through Sunday. 

There are no reported coastal watches or warnings in effect.
