Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies recalled over 'unexpected solidified ingredient'

Check your cabinets! Certain Chewy Chips Ahoy packages have been recalled.

Mondelēz Global LLC announced on Saturday that there is a limited voluntary recall in the United States of certain Chew Chips Ahoy cookies. The cookies, which have a package size of 13 ounces, are being recalled because of the potential that the product contains an unexpected solidified ingredient.

They said that some reports show that there is a potential adverse health effect to this unexpected solidified ingredient. 

The recall is limited exclusively to 13 ounce Chewy Chips Ahoy packages with the retail UPC of 0 44000 03223 4 and one of the following best used by dates:

  • September 7th, 2019
  • September 8th, 2019
  • September 14th, 2019
  • September 15th, 2019

According to Mondelēz Global LLC, those who have the recalled product should not eat it. Consumers can contact the company at 1-844-366-1171 for more information. 

The recall is being conducted in the United States.
