Wildfire in Daytona shuts down part of Interstate 95
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - There is a wildfire on Beville Road in Daytona Beach next to Interstate 95 (I-95).
The Florida Forest Service (FFS) says that smoke was impacting I-95 and the interstate needed to be shutdown on both the Northbound and Southbound lanes from Beville to Dunlawton. Troopers are stating that the reason for the closure is poor visibility.
I-95 will remain shutodnw overnight, as troopers continue to monitor visibility issues. It will be shut down in both directions between mile marker 255 and 260. The northbound lanes are shut down at S.R. 421 and the southbound lanes are shut down at I-4.
The fire is now 95% contained. .
They also have tweeted that there are four dozers on the ground and one supervisor working to contain the 15 acre wildfire.
The cause is still reportedly unknown. No structures are said to be endanger and there are on current evacuations.
