Suspect turns himself in after fatal shooting of Palm Coast teen
PALM COAST, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A teen was shot and killed at a Flagler County laundromat over the weekend.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said that 17-year-old Marion Gavins Jr. gunned down 18-year-old Curtis Gray outside a laundromat in Palm Coast early on Saturday after an argument.
Deputies said that Gavins Jr.'s mother called deputies the next day and arranged for her son to turn himself in. He is now in jail and faces a first-degree murder charge.
The victim was said to be a talented track runner and hoped to continue running in college. One coach said that Gray "brought leadership and characteristics that any coach would certainly like all of the kids on his team to have."
Deputies are still looking for a person of interest, 18-year-old Teresa Salgado. She also goes by the name Alex. Call Crimestoppers at 888-277-TIPS if you know where she is. You could get a reward.
