Security is a priority as Central Florida students head back to school
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Kids in several school districts are heading back to school on Monday.
When Central Florida students go back to class, security is high on administrator's priority lists.
In Seminole County, the district has a school resource officer for each campus, two on some of the larger ones. In Orange County, school resource officers have new heavy duty helmets and body armor in case there's a shooter.
A metal detection wand will also now be at every Orange middle and high school to be used at random.
Orange, Volusia, Marion, Lake, and Osceola county schools go back to school on Monday.
