Orlando police chief John Mina to run for Orange County Sheriff
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Orlando Police Department Chief John Mina on Thursday announced that is running for Orange County sheriff in 2020. Mina filed his paperwork to run on Wednesday morning.
Mina has been the OPD chief for four years and has been with the department more than 25 years. Jose "Joe" Lopez and Thomas Aaron Stroup are also running.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings was elected in 2008 but intends will run for Orange County mayor in 2018.
