Florida's Turnpike Road Rangers backed up by workers in high tech center
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Most people probably have no idea where the Road Rangers come from where there is trouble on Central Florida’s roads. Sometimes it seems like they just kind of appear.
In reality there is a high tech room called the Traffic Management Center (T.M.C.) where operators watch over about 350 miles of pavement by monitoring 600 separate traffic cameras.
With the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday weekend here, business in the T.M.C. is about to boom. The News Station’s Tom Johnson takes you behind-the-scenes for a look at how they keep everyone safe and the roads clear.
