Bond denied for 2 arrested in Palm Bay corruption scandal
PALM BAY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A judge denied bond on Saturday to two men accused of a corruption scandal in Palm Bay.
Judge Kelly Ingram denied bond to Jose Aguiar and Dave Isnardi because of the seriousness of the allegations against them.
Former Palm Bay deputy manager Isnardi turning himself into the Brevard County jail to face charges. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement saying Isnardi and businessman Aguiar planned to install cameras in a house to record city leaders having sex with prostitutes. They also planned to plant drugs in city leaders’ cars, according to the arrest warrant.
Investigators say Isnardi and Aguiar were business partners who wanted to make sure Palm Bay rezoned some land. With the land rezoned they stood to make more than $600,000 according to the arrest warrant.
Brevard County commissioner Bryan Lober is representing Isnardi and says his client will fight the charges.
The FBI began investigating Isnardi and Aguiar in 2015 before bringing in FDLE.
