'Go home to your families': Florida deputy signs off for final time with tearful message
CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - You may want to grab the tissues for this one.
After 30 years with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office in Florida, Deputy Richard Briggs has retired.
On August 30, he signed off for the last time.
"Deputy Richard Briggs is ready to ride off into the sunset," the sheriff's office wrote on Twitter. "Starting in 1989 as a Corrections Deputy, Deputy Briggs ends his service to the community as a member of the agency’s Traffic Unit."
Deputy Briggs thanked the sheriff's office for their support during his career and ended the call with an emotional message to his colleagues before breaking out into tears.
"Always remember to be safe and go home to your families. God bless everybody."
Thank you for your service, Deputy Briggs.
