'Maleficent' dragon float catches fire at Magic Kingdom
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (FOX 13) - A float of a dragon, representing Disney's "Maleficent," caught fire during the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom Friday.
According to witnesses who recorded video and took pictures of the scene, the head of the dragon caught fire.
Disney officials confirmed the dragon float is supposed to shoot a small flame from its nose, but this time it caught the rest of the dragon's head on fire.
Workers were able to quickly put out the flames and no one was hurt, Disney said.
Video of the fiery dragon head shows its mechanical mouth and neck still operating as workers tried to put out the flames.
Joseph Warren witnessed the dragon catching fire. He told FOX 13 News it was extinguished pretty quickly and there didn't appear to be anyone injured.
