Fans paying thousands for 'Avengers' opening night tickets

Moviegoers are gearing up for the finale of the Avengers franchise, "Avengers: Endgame."

And some fans are shelling out big bucks to see it on opening night.

Two tickets have sold for $15,000 on eBay for a movie screening at a theater in New Jersey.

You can also bid on a pack of nine tickets on eBay for opening night. It will just set you back around $25,000.

All of the craziness began when the tickets went on sale last week. So many people headed to the AMC theater and Fandango websites that both of them crashed.

"People are obsessed.  People are crazy about this particular Marvel cinematic universe," movie critic Neil Rosen said. "The guy who paid $15,000, I mean that's just insane.  But I guess he really wants to see the movie and he's got a lot of money."

The movie, which is three hours long, is the series finale and conclusion to the 22 films.

It hits theaters April 26.

FOX 5 reported this story from Atlanta.
