Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando is officially open

Sesame Street Land opened up on Wednesday at SeaWorld Orlando.

The newest six-acre large section of the park brings the iconic television show, Sesame Street, to Orlando in an interactive, immersive, and fun way.

The land features several different areas, all based off of different characters. For example, there is Abby Cadabby’s Garden, Big Bird’s Nest, Mr. Hooper’s Store, and the famous 123 Stoop. Everything you see there is a direct lift from the show's set.

The grand opening of the land happened during the perfect time, as it is Sesame Street's 50th year-anniversary.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome guests to walk down Sesame Street for the very first time in the theme park capital of the world,” said Mark Pauls, President of SeaWorld Orlando. “This highly-anticipated, immersive new land is the largest Sesame Street land inside of any of our SeaWorld parks. With over 30 new ways to play and an award-winning parade, this is a new land that guests of all ages will love, and we are excited to share it with the world.”

“Theme parks represent one of the most powerful ways for families to engage with and delight in the Sesame Street characters,” said Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President/General Manager, North America Media and Licensing, Sesame Workshop (the nonprofit educational organization behind the iconic brand). “Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando will enable us to establish deeper connections with even more families while helping the Workshop sustain its nonprofit and educational mission.”

The park features several educational interactive experiences. For example, Elmo's Window allows park guests to play, dance, and sing with Elmo. Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck Challenge is another interactive experience, which allows guests to whip up some delicious meals with Cookie Monster and Gonger.

Sesame Street Land also features six new rides: Abby’s Flower Tower, Cookie Drop!, Slimey’s Slider, Big Bird’s Twirl ‘n’ Whirl, Elmo’s Choo Choo Train and Super Grover’s Box Car Derby.

Other highlights of the park include the Rubber Duckie Water Works play area, Storytime with Big Bird, and the Sesame Street Party Parade. Park guests who work up an appetite can visit Eats on the Street, which features different food trucks and a specialty drink stand.

Finally, park guests can take part of Sesame Street Land home with them after visiting Mr. Hooper's store, which features plush characters, apparel, collectibles, and more. These products are exclusive to SeaWorld Orlando.
