1 person killed, another injured in Brevard County crash that shut down I-95: FHP
SEBASTIAN, Fla. - One person was killed following a crash in Brevard County along I-95 Friday evening, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Around 1:45 p.m. A Chevy Malibu was stopped along the inside southbound lane of I-95 near mile marker 161 in Sebastian. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling in the same lane struck the back of the Malibu while trying to avoid the car.
The Corolla overturned leaving the 29-year-old female driver dead and her 31-year-old passenger injured. The driver of the Malibu was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Multiple lanes on I-95 southbound were closed for some time but reopened after a few hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
