1 person killed in deadly 3-car Marion County crash: FHP
MARION COUNTY, Fla. - One person has died following a deadly crash in Marion County Saturday, Florida Highway Patrol said.
FHP said an SUV driven by a 74-year-old man was traveling west on CR 484 around 10:36 a.m. when it traveled into the eastbound lane of CR 484 for "unknown reasons." The side of the SUV collided with a second SUV.
The second SUV traveled off the roadway into the south ditch of CR 484 where it overturned.
The front of the first SUV then collided with the front of a third car carrying two adults and three children. The first SUV then traveled off the roadway into the north ditch of CR 484 where it came to a final rest.
A 74-year-old man from Ocala died, and a 71-year-old is in critical condition, according to FHP.
A woman in the third car involved in the crash is in critical condition and an 8-year-old is in serious condition.
