Brevard County experiencing severe weather

FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Ian Cassette has your latest forecast for Memorial Day weekend across Central Florida, including a severe thunderstorm warning that has subsided in Brevard County.

A special thunderstorm warning for Brevard County expired at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, but now the main concern lies at the coastline.

The National Weather Service said a special marine warning is in effect between the Volusia-Brevard county line and Sebastian Inlet until 6 p.m. That warning carries the threat of waterspouts, which can form quickly and capsize boats, damage vessels and create hazardous seas.

Wind gusts can reach nearly 40 mph, and other weather concerns include lightning and heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service.
