Orlando Weather Forecast: May 4, 2024

FOX 35 Meteorologist Jessica Dobson has a look at the forecast in Orlando and Central Florida.

The sea breeze has produced downpours and thunderstorms in eastern Seminole and Orange counties, dumping over 2inches of rain in the Bithlo area – welcome relief from this dry weather. Most spots however, have remained dry.

Tomorrow, we'll see much of the same with only a 30% coverage of afternoon downpours, resultant from the sea breeze.

The highest chance of afternoon rain on Sunday looks to be on the I-75 corridor, so it'll be further west for the most part than today's rain.

At the beaches, expect 1-3 foot waves with a moderate risk for rip currents.

Then the big story becomes the warm-up next week, with high temps pushing 100° late-week.

A huge, sprawling area of upper level high pressure moves in and turns off the afternoon rain chances while baking Central Florida.

Humidity will creep up too, providing a real preview of the summer months to follow.

The good news is this isn't here to stay.

A cold front next weekend will bring rain, storms and cooler temps for a short time as we head into the second full week of May.
