Orlando Weather Forecast: Oct. 6, 2023

Friday and Saturday will continue to be warm and muggy, but a cold front arrives on Saturday night that will dry things up a bit and lower those temperatures. However, the cooler, dry conditions won't last long as tropical moisture moves over the state late next week.

Tonight's low: 71 degrees | Tomorrow's high: 87 degrees

Main weather concerns:

Friday and Saturday will continue to be warm and muggy, but a cold front arrives on Saturday night that will dry things up a bit and lower those temperatures. However, the cooler, dry conditions won't last long as tropical moisture moves over the state late next week.

BEACHES:

It will be a nice Saturday at the beaches. Mixed skies with highs in the low-mid 80s. Winds will be from the N at 5-10 mph. An isolated shower or two is possible with coverage at 10%. Rip current risk is in the moderate range, always swim near an open lifeguard stand. The surf zone will feature breaking waves around 3 feet.

THEME PARKS:

Mostly dry skies are likely at the theme parks. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s with a lot of sunshine. Stay hydrated and enjoy!

OUTLOOK:

Rain chances will fall through this weekend. Highs will remain in the mixed 80s, with lows mainly in the 70s through Saturday. Saturday night a cool front will sweep the state bringing cooler temperatures to Central Florida. Highs will dip to near 80 degrees on Sunday and Monday, with lows in the 60s, much less humidity, and mostly dry skies.

It looks like fall-like temperatures are finally upon us, but only for a short time. Our cold front is still on track to make for a gorgeous few days, Sunday through Tuesday. Temperatures will drop by about 10 degrees and the humidity will be pushed into South Florida, allowing a true fall feel to grace our region.

Like all good things, it comes to an end midweek, as the same front comes back as a warm front, bringing heavy rain potential to our area. There is even an outside chance a tropical or subtropical system will form along the front, enhancing our rain totals. This appears to be a primary rain threat and could lead to some area nuisance flooding by next weekend. Otherwise, there are no tropical threats to Florida at this time. Stay tuned for details.

TRACKING THE TROPICS:
Tropical Storm Philippe is bringing rain and winds to the island of Bermuda. Philippe will take a Northerly track over the next several days as a tropical storm. Weakening is expected as Philippe moves inland over New England and Atlantic Canada this weekend.

Tracking the Tropics: Oct. 6, 2023

After a cool and dry start to next week, an area of low pressure will begin to move over the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to funnel tropical moisture over Florida.

A tropical wave we're watching is expected to move off the west coast of Africa and stands at a 50% chance of development over the next seven days. Most models take this feature on a northerly track while over the tropical Atlantic.
