Orlando PM Weather Forecast: December 28, 2024

A cold front pushes through the region tomorrow bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. Meteorologist Laurel Blanchard has the timeline of the cold front and when the storms arrive in Central Florida.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few showers possible late. Patchy fog dense fog across the region late tonight into tomorrow morning, so make sure you adjust for time if you plan to travel early tomorrow morning. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 60s.

TOMORROW:  A cold front sweeps through the region, ramping up our rain chances Sunday morning and continuing through Sunday afternoon/evening. It's possible that there could be a few lightning storms as this front moves through. Main threats for tomorrow will be gusty winds, heavy downpours and the possibility of a few thunderstorms. Rain totals anywhere between just a drizzle to about 1-1.5 inches of rain.

START OF THE WEEK: After the front moves through, we wont see a blast of cooler air, but some drier air will work its way into Central Florida, cutting the humidity and clearing us out for NYE day.

Looking Ahead: Behind this system, the clouds clear and temps drop back into the lower and middle 70s as we round out 2024 and ring in 2025. 2025 will start off with more sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures in the low 70s. A cold snap looks to be on the way. Long-range outlook features a cool down as another front pushes through late next week (Next Thursday/Friday). We could possibly see highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s and 40s.
