REST OF THIS EVENING:
A handful of thunderstorms will continue to pop up for the rest of the evening and start to fizzle out a little later on tonight at around 10 p.m. Main threats are heavy rain and lightning. Some of the heavy rain through the rest of this evening on top of rain that especially areas in Flagler and Volusia got yesterday may lead to a flooding advisory as we head through the rest of the evening into the early overnight.
Main story is the Saharan Dust. It is here and definitely making things hazy. Ultimately, this will lower the air quality and most likely aggravate allergies for a lot of folks. But there are a few benefits. Because of the dust, it will keep tropical activity at bay for the next seven days. The Saharan dust will also "dry out" the air and limit the chances of rain today, and we will do the same tomorrow as well. Lows tonight will be in the upper 70s.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Saharan Dust sticks around through the Start of the work week, keeping the temperatures in the low 90s and rain chances at bay on Monday. Only seeing a few pop up storms in the afternoon similar to what we saw today. Skies will continue to stay hazy and air quality will stay poor.
Temperatures will stay in the low 90s on Monday with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Skies will still stay hazy on Tuesday as the dust lingers over Florida. Storm chances will amp back up on Tuesday afternoon as we fall back into that typical July Florida pattern. Temperatures will pop back up into the mid 90s for the rest of the week with temperatures feeling like 105-110 degrees ad the humidity kicks back in.
The Saharan Dust will finally start to push out as we head into later on Wednesday into early Thursday.
