New system being watched in the Gulf of Mexico

Days before the official start of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a system in the Gulf of Mexico. The NHC says the system has a low chance of becoming a tropical or subtropical system, but will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Florida later in the week.
