Weekend system to bring storms to Florida

Our next best chance for rain will arrive on Saturday and Sunday as the Gulf of Mexico low pressure cranks up and heads closer to Florida. We've issued FOX 35 Storm Alert Days to address the heavy rain threat and gusty winds-we're also monitoring for severe weather during this time. Damaging winds and even a few isolated tornadoes will be possible.

It will be mostly cloudy overnight with a breeze continuing and a small chance of a rain shower. Lows will vary greatly based on location, from the upper 40s in Gainesville to the low 70s in Melbourne and Cocoa Beach. Wednesday will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies, a brisk NE wind at 10-20 mph with a small chance for a few incoming showers or sprinkles off the Atlantic Ocean.
