Tropics are quiet, but for how long?

There are no systems being monitored in the Atlantic right now. That's after three tropical storms formed in June: Arlene, Bret, and Cindy, which is considered above-normal. Over the last 30 years, typically June sees one tropical storm, per NHC's monthly summary. FOX 35's Ian Cassette talks about the tropical forecast.

2 disturbances being tracked in the Atlantic

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two disturbances in the Atlantic that are south of Bermuda. One is the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy, which is not expected to redevelop. The other has a low chance of formation as it moves slowly northward.

Tropical Storm Cindy forms in the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Cindy formed in the Atlantic Ocean late Thursday, becoming the third named storm of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Depression 4 forms in the Atlantic

Tropical Depression 4, previously known as Invest 93-L, formed in the central Atlantic Ocean Thursday morning and is forecast to become a tropical storm in the next day or so, according to the National Hurricane Center.
