The National Hurricane Center is tracking Tropical Storm Sean which formed in the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday morning, becoming the 19th named storm of the busy 2023 Atlantic season.

Gulf system could bring rain to Florida

After a cool and dry start to next week, an area of low pressure will begin to move over the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to funnel tropical moisture over Florida.

Tracking the Tropics: Latest on Philippe

Philippe is moving northward in the Atlantic Ocean and does not pose a threat to Florida. The FOX 35 Storm Team is also monitoring a tropical wave moving off the Coast of Africa that has a 30% chance of becoming better organized.

Tropical Storm Phillipe impacting Bermuda

Tropical Storm Phillipe is beginning to travel northwest, where tropical storm conditions are expected to impact Bermuda, the National Hurricane Center said. No impacts to Florida. No other potential areas or disturbances currently being monitored by the NHC.

Tropical Storm Phillipe is in the Central Atlantic northeast of the Leeward Islands. Phillipe will take a northerly track over the next several days as a tropical storm, all while remaining far from any land. Outside of Phillipe, the tropics remain quiet. The FOX 35 Storm Team is monitoring two tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean that are being impacted by wind shear. Tropical Storm Philippe is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane, while what was once Tropical Storm Rina has been downgraded to a tropical depression.
